Materials

From the all-metallic airframes and sports cars’ chassis a few decades ago, new designs have more and more composite materials. The Boeing 787 has 80% (in volume) of composites. Wind turbine blades and Formula 1 cars are today basically all composites.

Most publications for download here are from http://www.everyspec.com. Download them here or direct from the source site.

You will find here data for the metallic materials and composite materials most used in aerospace, motorsport and wind energy structural engineering. A link to a resins and plastics databank (CAMPUSplastics) at the botom of the page

Read: The Materials Revolution - Materials for future aircraft. Takes time to download but is essential for aerospace engineers.
